Turken

Kent, WA

Here is the Turken we just hatched. She is absolutely beautiful! The mom is a black Turken and dad is one of our barnyard roosters. This baby has gorgeous coloring and I can't wait to see her when she is all grown.

A red head!!! How absolutely adorable. She looks so soft. Congrats Karbear!! I just love them. I hatched out silkies/showgirls this winter and one has Turken characteristics. Just lovely! I would like to see her as she grows up.

I myself have never been very fond of the Turken.. but I must say, that has got to be the most distiguished bird.. he could be a professor of something.. just throw some nose glasses on him (or her)

I love Turkens - the one we had was very personable, and a good mother. We gave our chickens away when we moved though, so we had to start over. I didn't get any Turkens this time, but I wish we had.

I want a Turken!!!
What a cutie.
My boyfriend never wanted a turken. I guess the ones that he saw in pictures just were not that cute. But then we got Ozzie given to us.
Unfortunatly, he is no longer with us :(
He was my favorite.
I don't know anyone around us that has turkens.

This was Ozzie on the run. Not sure what he was running after. Probably one of his girlfriends.

I must confess, i'm with Fran on this one. I love the color as well as the cute face, but when they grow up they are just butt ugly. In fact as adults they would be so much prettier if they would just walk backwards. I'm having a terrible time controlling myself today. LOL Easy now Karbear, just kidding ... I think. Haystack

And big birds when all grown up :p

I love them--and that one is really extraordinary. I wonder how it will look when it feathers out?

OK Kassy!!! Now I'm really feeling bad :-( Sob's I'm a bad boy, I'm a bad boy. I repent. THORRY! Hay

I wish I knew where I could find one around here.
I really miss mine. :( He was a very gentle bird. He would follow me around the yard sometimes, when his mind wasn't occupied with his girlfriends!
