Seen on April 16 in Montrose Harbor in Chicago.
CLOSED: Open: What Kind of Duck Is This ?
White-winged scoter, first winter male or possibly a female.
I thought it was a white wing, but it didn't match the pictures I saw. Probably a male because was putting on some good displays.
Montrose harbor gets the best birds!

Thanks for the ID. It confirmed my suspicions. I loaded a couple images to the Davesgarden file on the White Wing. I have a bunch on my Flickr page for those interested. My user name is DrLensCap.
