Qustion about pepper seeds & moth orchid

Dunmor, KY(Zone 6a)

Hi all. I have 2 qustions:
1. How many days does it take Peter Peppers to come up from seeds? I planted mine about 3 weeks ago & so far they haven't done anything at all.

2. What does the sprout on a moth orchid look like & where do they come up at? (My mom thinks maybe they come up ON the plant) If anyone has a pic, that would also be a lot of help!

Sorry for asking so many qustions, but yall seem to have a lot of knowledge :)

The above site shows where the mouth develops.

As for the Peter Peppers, it has to be REALLY warm for the seeds to germinate. I planted mine in Feb. and they are just now coming up - provide heat and slight moisture, cover the container, and they will come up.

According to Thompson & Morgans Seed Germination Database, it take 21 - 30 days for germination. They like their nights warm too, 70 - 75 degrees. Plus they should be sown on the surface and not buried, they need light to germinate.

Can't help on the orchid.
