goat repelent

New here, maybe silly question.?? Does any one know of any type spray or ?? that goats don't like. I planted 60-3foot pine trees last year. They are doing real good & I put 3 foot chicken wire cages around them to keep the wild rabbits from eating them. That worked very well, however when we let the goats free roam, they like to eat the new growth.I have heard of putting a small chunk of Ivory soap on trees to prevent deer from eating them.HELP PLEASE & thank you... Bounce dryer sheets, or probably any brand with a strong smell, work on deer too. Maybe it would work on goats?

HOT WIRE.

Really. I've never found something that will stop a goat from eating pine trees. They LOVE them...and if gives them RED LIPS.

Ditto what she said. Electric fence and shave their necks and heads so they can't shudder though anyway...

edited to say "shave" ---shave their heads

Thanks for the replies,I really doubted there was anything they would eat or chew on. Guess they will have to stay in pastures & I will have to do all the weeding.. G/G

I had to laugh G/G. Our first (and only at the time) goat was allowed to run loose when we were outside. We had a ball watching her follow our dog. There was a Forstyia bush that I was nursing along from being walked on, mowed over and run over by the dog. She loved that thing! Sometimes, she would snatch a bite while running past it and other times, she would slink up to it. I'd say " NO, Lucy" and she would back up. But then she would sneak back up when she thought I wasn't looking. Also had an 8' Maple tree that I put a ring of chairs around to keep her from chomping on it, to no avail. She just climbed up in the chairs.
