Thank you for this pic! I'm having nightmares on how to arrange about 7 new plants on our new garden...and this is one of them. If I had gone by the plastic tag that came with the gallon container I purchased, I'd be putting in front of other plants that only would grow to 3'...Good Grief!
BTW, how old is that plant?
Thank you again :)

Hi Susan! I uploaded another picture of this plant from the opposite side. There's other plants nearby for height comparison. I planted them all together two years prior to this pic. I didn't do anything unusual (like adding Super-Grow or something). Every year they come back the same height. It is definitely a back of the border plant, because the legs get gangly and ugly. Especially late in the season, they start to yellow just as the flowers are exploding. Hummers love them. Be careful of powdery mildew.

Thank you for sharing this. Mine are growing like gangbusters at about 4 feet tall, and are just now showing buds. I planted mine early last fall on the edge of my woods hoping they would naturalize, and boy are they hardy! I am worried that I won't like them there too long, so am looking to divide again this fall and move to an area more in the "back" of the yard. These guys are HUGE! They are starting to look a little leggy and have the slightest amount of powdery mildew that I need to nip in the bud. Can't wait for the blooms.

Yup. They get ugly below the knees. I try to plant other stuff down around there to cover it up. Powdery mildew gets em too. I thin them and that does a pretty good job. I've been meaning to use a baking soda mixture someone told me about. Maybe this year I'll get to it.
