We've been planning this project for a few years and today my DH broke ground for a new flower bed adjacent to our gravel driveway. Hard to tell from the grass, but our driveway is on the right. If it ever stops raining long enough we'll apply Round-Up to kill the grass.
Looks are deceiving in this photo as it's approximately 120' from the back of our garage to the Norway Spruce at the road. We plan to use landscape timbers next to the driveway. So my pressing question for your help and advice is how to edge the bed on the lawn side so the grass is kept at bay and doesn't spread into my new flower garden. Neither of us are not interested in pre-fab stone or concrete. Just not sure what other options we have.
This side of our home receives full sun almost all day. I have elephant ears, cannas, and few more ideas for the curved portion. I'm filling the straight stretch with day lilies and the kidney-shaped garden at the road will be wildflowers.
I just joined DG March 1st and am looking forward to any and all lawn edging suggestions (and plant ideas too).
Thanks everyone,
Susan
