I am trying now, to root my cutting I got from TG. I have it in a 1:1:1 mix of perilite, orchid mix and potting soil. I have it in my gh with bottom heat, and pretty high humidity. Thanks Leah

Has anyone successfully rooted a HOYA SIGILLATIS
Yes! I, too, bought mine from Ted in Nov of 2007! I started mine very similarly to how you have yours. Can't remember now how long it took to root though. It's been an extremely slow grower for me....
Good luck!
Kelly
thanks. I will give it all the time it needs. It seems like this is a hard hoya for lots of people to root. So I want to cover all the basis. I have this problem with being nosey, I'm always trying to see if there is roots. Leah
How long have you had it?
H. sigallatis LOVES being grown like H. carnosa... dry, less light and less water than most. SemiHydroponically works well for it.
I have had it about 2 weeks. I bought the clay balls, hopefully them come on time to save it. I also got a caudata from him, doesn't look to hot, should I try to root it the same? Thanks for all the input Leah
Before it comes you could put it in perlite.
Above all, give H. caudata a lot of airmovement. It was found on boulders beside a rushing river...humidity and airmovement....
That's what we need Aloha...a sticky thread with a list of Hoyas and where they were found...just like you did for H. caudata there...it would b ever so helpful!!
Heh, heh...and when you find one, can you let me know?
Actually, sometimes (often) it is mentioned in the publications...I'll see if I have any translations.... oOOOOOPS, I sent them to a friend to copy...gotta ask her.
Carol
I grow mine in full afternoon sun, not too frequent with the watering can and it has been blooming ever since I moved last summer! Lots of flowers on the way now in the spring sunshine...
I rooted several cuttings directly in soil mixed with lots of perlite and have had no problems with them. Only problem I have now is that the cuttings have grown too long and gets tangeled in with the hoyas below... or perhaps that's not a problem...? :-)
Here's a photo taken this weekend.

Thanks everybody for responding.
Christina I was going to email you to ask you because I did see on your website that you cut your cutting up and when it grew you cut it up again and it rooted. thanks for your response
I looked the other day, you see what I mean by me being nosey, one of the 3 cuttings is starting to root and the others still look good. I am feeling pretty happy. Thanks for all the support. Leah
I received H. sigillatis from TG last fall and wound the stems of the cutting around the top of a 4" pot of soil mix and then covered the stems with medium. I figured the more stem in contact with the medium, the better the chance of getting the cutting to root. My cutting was also pretty dessicated when I received it.
I put the pot in an open Ziploc bag under my fluorescent lights. The cutting has rooted, but has not produced any growth - yet. I will have to let this plant dry out more, since I have been keeping it pretty moist since I moved it to a window from under the lights. Under the lights the plant would get quite dry. Maybe I need to put it back under the lights and ignore it more? Hmmm...???
Good luck.
Thanks for all the posts. So far so good 2 out of three have rooted, the one that has not rooted is dieing. So I think that is pretty good odd. Thanks again leah
