I got this one the other day. He looks kinda like the Governor straddling that fence. :)

Lovely Bobwhite shots, Chris and Red. I haven't heard or seen any this year but I usually see at least one each year and hope to see one soon. I think fireants have played havoc with the bobwhite population

The major cause of decline in BW populations almost everywhere is loss of habitat. Some of the highest populations are in S. Texas where there are scads of fire ants.

In much of the Bob's range it's mating time. That means the Bobs will be perched on fence posts and such calling for mates. It's probably the best time of the year to see them and get a photo of a wild Bob.
