A Sparrow I hope.
CLOSED: New one for me - ID needed
Not quite sure what to make of this! Best match is Clay-colored Sparrow, but that shouldn't really be in Florida. Chipping would be much more likely in Florida, but that has an obvious dark line in front of the eye, which your bird doesn't have.
Resin
Resin look at western Sparrows. We do get western birds on occassion after big storms coming from the west and we have had 2 huge ones lasting for day these last 2 weeks
Looks like a Clay-colored...field guides say rare for here but we get individuals pretty regularly (I live near gardenpom)
That's what I thought too, but my field guide book does not list them for Florida. Thanks for the help.
Well they don't list birds for a lot of states and they still wind up there.
We still have the Green-tailed Towhee here in NJ. Their supposed to be way out west. :-)
