Gulls, Gulls, Gulls

Ric and I just came back from a week at the beach. Atlantic Beach, N.C.

A couple of kids down on the beach had a real feeding frenzy going on.

Which, turned into a great Photo-op for me.

I think these are mostly Laughing Gulls, but I could be wrong.

I know Gulls aren't everyone's favorite bird, but I really enjoy watching them.

Sitting down in the sand and shooting up gave me a great blue background for the back and white birds.

Interesting how they just hover there, then move so quickly.

Really stacking up.

As I leave the beach the feeding frenzy is still going on.

Holly you have combined two of my favorite things...Gulls and the ocean!! Thanks for sharing these great shots...what a pleasure to view them!

Thanks dellrose, I have a few more pics of some other shore birds. Thought I would put them in a separate thread. Not as good shots as the gulls. Neither me or my camera do long distances well. But there are a few good enough to post. I am putting those together right now.

Another nice set Holly! The first set (Gulls) remind me of SoCal and this set reminds me of Florida! Thanks for the nice visit...I could hear the ocean!!

Nice photos of the Laughing Gulls, Holly. About three weeks ago, I was in Chincoteague, VA and Ocean City, MD and only saw two. They apparently haven't worked their way north,yet.

They are a very striking bird, especially against the blue sky. And, seagulls make an excellent photo subject to practice on.
