..plus lots of other groups out there, too. Fri, Sat at the fairgrounds (near the plant exhibition section). Seems like it starts at 8:30--check the News and Observer to verify. These guys always have a GREAT variety at spectacular prices. Bring a cart, wagon etc if you have one--they have some, but they go fast.

Raleigh, NC Garden Club Plant Sale Fri, Sat
Do they have a lot of hostas? I want some more this year.
Thanks-Lynda
Oh, Man! I already have 3 to go to here in SC! How can I be in FOUR places at one time??
Ack!
This one is good, you guys. I never miss it! What you will find varies year to year, as many of the plants are divisions/propagated by the club members themselves. My experience is that there are lots of bargains. Also, huge azalea sale, herb sale, annuals sale etc by other groups near the garden club site.
Oh wow, I have the weekend and Friday off and I am looking for places to go and this sounds perfect!! Has anyone been to Green Hill farms - they have open house days only Friday and Sat's??
Lynda - you might want to check out Green Hill - the hybridizer(sp?) Solberg is the owner/operator from my understanding and they have a coupon for 50% one hosta there... I am hoping to make it either tomorrow or Sat :-)
Here's the list of plants they are selling. This list excludes what the other 3-4 groups sell--this is just the Raleigh Garden Club. I don't know if the list has everything on it. I got it from their website. Enjoy!

Thanks!!
Was out there today--almost no hostas, but I scored a 4 ft Carolina Silverbell (Halesia Carolina??? I think so...) for $11.00!!!! All the herbs are $3.00--many organic, and by the same growers as sell at nurseries and even farmers market for much more. Tons of 1 and 3 gallon Camellias and Azaleas (at least 40??? cultivars). Large Lady Banks rose (yellow) for $18.00, 3 gallon Camellias for $24.00, I believe.
The smaller plants are propagated by the Garden Club and are really inexpensive. Larger plants from local nurseries--pretty easy to tell which ones, but I won't give that away! Suffice to say, I know where a few of my plants came from, and I know I got a great deal, and for a wonderful cause. Proceeds fund scholarships.
I might have seen you there yote, I was there yesterday around 1 or so, Im not sure it was my day off and I was goofing off :-) I got three of the one gallon azaleas for $4 each, a 1 gal camellia for $10, a 1 gal Gardenia for $6 and a few perennials - it was great - Thanks!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Sorry I missed meeting you--I was there around 9 AM (lucky me, to have the time)! Lots of good things, huh?And some very unusual stuff. Great information from the members about the more unusual items, as they grow them. Plus, everything is pretty much local, so you know it will grow for you.
I noticed the 'home made' pots many of the perennials were in, I figured they dug them out their yard - it's good to hear! I did get a few odds n ends from them. I think the best was the 4H kids, I got to talk to one of the kids that was doing the propagation - rooting the cuttings :-) She sounded so excited!
Would have liked to have made it to the "Planting Party" for kids on Sunday. Bet that was fun...
I wish I'd seen this before now so I could've gone! :(
