This Saturday, April 18 will be the Cherokee Co. Master Gardener's Plant Sale. We will be located on Hwy 69 next to Whataburger in Jacksonville. This will be member only grown plants so not the usual bedding plants. We will start setting up at around 7:00 and sell at 8:00. Come early for best selections. We are usually sold out by 2:00.
Lots of salvia varieties, oakleaf hydrangeas, Pride of Barbados/ BOP, brugs and other cool things.
Come see us and enjoy the fun and plant talk.

I know some are going to SFA sale but stop by on your way down to Nac.
MG Plant sale-Jacksonville area
Hope the weather does not run the shoppers away if it does get rainy.
Come on out, good time for planting for real gardeners.
D
what happens if its raining in the morning like it its now?? Ive gotten 3 inches in the last 4 hrs.. is there a rain date or anything???
It seems like the heavy rain is out of the area as I look at the radar. The rain may be off and on today but as of now we are still scheduled to have the sale. I have the pick up loaded with the first of several loads to take to the sale location. Hope this does not keep all of our customers away.
Wear clothes that will keep you dry and come on down.
There is a small covered area that will allow some of us shelter.

Guess this will show us the real gardeners . We have discussed an alternate day if it is really bad weather. We will post when the decision is made but think positive.
The plant sale began is light rain around 8:00. By 11:00 it was really raining hard. Surprised folks still came out and bought plants. Guess it shows that good plants will bring them out even in bad weather. We folded up at 11:00 and went for coffee. We did fair with the weather.
Thanks for those that supported us.

DD ~ so sorry you got rained out. Sadly after all the work you do to get ready the weather doesn't always cooperate. I guess the true gardeners don't let the rain slow them down. What is your next project?

For the weather we had, I think things went well. I would have liked if better weather but so is life. Not bad as I took 3 PU loads and returned with only about half of one. Will have these for the RU coming in early May. Wish you would come on up and join us.
If there are things I have you want, guess we could do a mail trade. I do not Need anything but always up for a new to me plant.
DD
LOL same here on a "new to me" plant or else one I really loved and lost. I think "need" changes with the years. Glad you divested yourself of that many plants. Apparently your nighttime maurauder didn't destroy things, just made more work for you?
I think the night raids are over for now anyway. Got a coon and possum so maybe their relatives learned a lesson. Hope so anyway.
My things looked good by sale day. Some even blooming so that sells things to the "not really" gardeners. But in the rain they were all real gardeners to shop in the rain.
Funny folks we are!
D
Funny? I don't know, I think we all fully understand the value of rain. We will be praying for it later in the season I am sure.
