Any idea why my odorata may be going yellow?
The leaves are all on tight, just some yellowing in the leaves
that is a subtle but obvious fading.
I don't fertilize during winter, so it was started back on some
balanced 777 about a month ago when I raised night temps
in the greenhouse to mid 60's.
The fert is miracle-gro african violet - it has iron. Never had
a problem with it, though I usually use dyna 7-9-5.
Odorata going yellow
All the leaves going yellow? Just spots or the whole leaf? How are the roots? Could be minors? Does your fert have minors?
Minors was my first thought.
The yellowing is mild and spreading in all leaves.
Have not popped it out to look at the roots; first thought
was clorosis.
This is a rooted cutting from last summer. Slow growing
one too.
What is minors?
Hi Kelly,
Minors are the minor elements that plants need beside
N-P-K.
Iron for example. Lack of it will cause iron chlorosis in
evergreens and we see that present as yellowing leaves.
There are many symptoms of different deficiencies, but with
yellowing we usually think of iron - not always the reason though.
