Suggestions for knee waders or boots?

I'll be working in water no deeper than 9 in. or so. Should I just get a pair of Wellingtons?

I own the wellies as well as hip waders. I find that sometimes I think I only need the wellies and have at one or more times filled them with water because I waded too deep into my pond. If your water isn't any deeper than the 9 inches consider the boots (but measure them to see if they will cover the nine inches).
