Can anyone help out here.

You could try this to grow them from cuttings:

I usually trim all but the top 2-3 leaves, dunk them in wet potting soil and/or compost, put the pot w/ the plant in a clear plastic bag (like from the produce section) and tie it off. Place it in a warm location and check periodically to see if it's taken hold. This usually works, but it's not 100% successful. I'm going to try the Forsythe method that I posted a link to later on this summer for some of my stuff.
You can also propagate them by layering. Just cover part of a stem with soil or compost leaving about 6 inches of the end of the stem uncovered.and kept the soil damper than you usually would. The stem will root rather quickly. Then, all you have to do is cut the rooted end from the plant. You also can just lay a rock over a stem so that the stem is in constant contact with the soil. The stem will root.
Hey Stephanie and Htop,
Thank You BOTH for the information. I really appreciate it. I will try the Forsythe method. It looks interesting and again i guess i should root a small piece every season to cut from the main plant and take inside for the winter. The problem was i was taking the whole plant inside and they never made it through a winter. So i will try multiple things this year. Thank You ..
I always know my fellow gardeners have more good info than a library!!
Thank You gals i really appreciate your time in answering my query!
Julie
You're welcome and I hope that you have great success.
