Bob,

Can you give us the name of the cucumbers you are growing? thanks!

Boca Raton, FL(Zone 10a)

The name is Manar, they are European Seedless Self Pollinating Cucumber seeds. Very expensive @ .79 EACH, but worth every penny. I've had 100% germination and great yields. Bought them from Hydro-gardens.com

Here is Vadilla Onions I picked and processed today. 13 1/2 lbs going into the freezer

Pretty Amazing!
Love Vidalias.

Thanks for the info. I know the seeds are expensive, but the return is worth it.

Crestview, FL

Bob: Those vidalias are sweet, I love them, can hardly wait to try the candy apple onions, how long from planting til harvest for your onions? I saw some white cucumbers in a catalogue the other day that were supposed to be self pollinating also and you could also grow them indoors? Have you ever grown white cucumbers? I hope these questions are not off topic here?

Boca Raton, FL(Zone 10a)

Bulbing onions take over 100 days to develop and planting the correct variety is critical. Way down south here for successful bulb development you need to plant the short day variety, i.e. Granex(Vadillia). Never have grown white cukes before, what catalogue?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I tried these white ones last year... got them free with my order from park seed.. called Pearl.. tasted like a regular slicing cucc

Jealous of those Cukes! I always have a pollination problem with them, no bees. They usually end up twisted and misshapen. Still good eating but I definitely need to try the all female(self pollinating) types. Checked out the site you posted. They are expensive! I found this site that has a few self pollinating cukes http://www.reneesgarden.com/seeds/seeds-hm/vegCh.htm#cuc about half way down.

Apparently the seed packs are only 5 seeds though so I guess they're pretty close to the same price. Oh well, I'm ordering a few packs of both, Chelsea Prize and Green Fingers. I'm also ordering 10 seeds from your link.

Checked with the Garden Watchdog and 42 pos., 3 neg and 3 neutral.... http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/c/171/

As always Bob, your plants are perfect!
