New Muscovies

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

We went to an "exotic animal auction" today that was very disappointing. They even split up a mother llama and her cria that was less than 2 weeks old. It was quite upsetting. Anyway, we were not impressed with most of it, but I did get a new pair of Muscovy ducks.

We named the drake "Valdez" and the hen is "Latte".

Here they are.

Here is a pic of Valdez by himself. He is a nice looking Muscovy in my opinion.

This is Latte. She has a sort of delicate look. I think she's very pretty.

Apparently she just recently had her first clutch this year, so she should start laying again soon.

Oh Dear--I am just falling farther and farther behind....what next?

They are lovely ducks and I want some:0)

Next is likely to be the new lambs from our 3 preggers ewes. Unless we happen to find anything at the swap we might go to next weekend, which is bigger and better than yesterday's.

Oh, I lied. Yesterday (2 days late!) our one and only Iowa Blue Hen hatched. I think it's a girl. She is completely brown with some stripes. I was surprised at her colo(u)rs. I checked the other eggs...scrambled contents....bummer...they had a rough shipping experience. The one will probably be named Blue, even though she isn't. LOL! Thanks for my birthday hen Catscan!
