I received this e-mail from Credo and thought this group might find it interesting.

The pesticide peddlers are not happy with Michelle Obama.
We support organic gardening.
Tell the board members of MACA (virtually all of them big chemical executives) that we don't appreciate their telling Michelle Obama (or any of us) to use pesticides in our gardens.
The Mid America CropLife Association (MACA) represents chemical companies that produce pesticides, and they are angry that — wait for it — Michelle Obama isn't using chemicals in her organic garden at the White House.
We are not making this up.
In an email they forwarded to their supporters, a MACA spokesman wrote, "While a garden is a great idea, the thought of it being organic made [us] shudder." MACA went on to publish a letter it had sent to the First Lady asking her to consider using chemicals — or what they call "crop protection products" — in her garden.
Michelle Obama has done America a great service by publicizing the importance of nutritious food for kids (she's growing the garden in partnership with a local elementary school class) as well as locally grown produce as an important, environmentally sustainable food source.
MACA's letter is part of a larger propaganda effort to convince people that chemicals are a necessary part of produce growth — when we know that's not true.
Click here to tell the MACA board that we support Michelle Obama's organic garden, and we'll thank them to keep their propaganda out of it.
Thank you for working to build a more organic world.

I see no link to click on.
Here ya go, Docgipe, I googled it up for you:

Unfortunately the Obamas have found that sludge applied to the White House lawn is going to render their vegetables inedible. See the story here:

There's a lesson in this, but what a shame.
To bad indeed! I greatly supported this president in the campaign. The gardening authorities at the White House have my offer to go there and teach the skills of making and use of aerobic tea. There were not any return obligations in the fine print and not a penny of expense account baloney. This offer is likely in the weird-o suspects file. There has been no response to date.
My note on that response with my signature said clearly: Many of your products should provide the following information: WARNING "Use of this product has been proven to sicken or kill soil and water living biology in all states and world wide countries". "This product is a BIOCIDE".
That having been said........."How many folks would read the labels"? For instance....I have coached a neighbor and shared wheelbarrow loads of compost for more than thirty years. I gave him the first ten pounds of 4-2-4 organic fertilizer. This week he was applying his second seasonal application of 10 - 10 - 10 the nice man at the Agway Store told him to use for great results. If I have learned anything from this it is that I can not push a rope.
We are now about eight weeks into our gardening. I walked over and got permission to dig about his raised garden. Even with nice organic content the worms are either dead or have gone elsewhere because of his nuking with 10 -10 - 10. Just eight weeks folks! Just a little of that crap to make things grow better is what I have learned from him. In every teacher's life one gets to eat humble pie once in a while. LOL
