I have a question regarding the purchase of Peonies...

Dallastown, PA(Zone 6a)

I would really like to plant Peony Sarah Bernhardt but have never done it before. I assumed that I would purchase it as a bulb, but I'm looking at websites and seeing things like 'Priced for a big 3-5 eye clump' or 'Priced for a pkg of 1 large clump'. What does this mean? Is it being sent as a plant and not a bulb? I guess I'm just not sure what I'm looking for and what I'm going to get. Please help!

Peonies aren't really bulbs, but have thick, almost woody, root clumps. What you'll receive is a root division with growth buds or "eyes", typically sent bare root and dormant. You can get all kinds of advice and guidance over in the Peony Forum.

Thanks, Gemini! I did find the Peonies forum and moved my bulletin there... But thanks for explaining that to me... I really appreciate it!
