Wet Bluebirds

Stafford County, VA

Over the weekend we had steady rain hereabouts. This is how Papa looked after being out in it for 2-plus days.

Most of these were taken as he tried in vain to shake himself dry while trying to keep his balance on a wire fence.

These were taken in the rain and under very gloomy conditions, so they were very underexposed. I lightened them a bit, but they still lack quality.

Sorry.

And here is Mama. Out for a brief stretch and something to eat.

Hope she dried off before she went back to those eggs!

Good one, Lily. Maybe that combination would work on a coffee mug too.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Awwww, I just adore those pictures. You'd better pattern 'em idea on the coffee mugs before some entrepeneurs steal the idea. Seriously.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

LOL! So cute , even soaking wet.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Awww, poor little sweeties!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

One of my favorite things to watch are the birds trying to shake off the water. Your pictures are adorable and you've captured them each at the perfect time.

Dave,
As usual your pics are wonderful and delightfully cute in catching the spirit of these little beauties!!
Mine (well...not mine, but ......) have returned to the back porch nest pox as used last year. I am so excited that this male has gotten himself another mate and is carrying on the tradition of nesting right at my window. This female doesn't seem as shy as the last one..maybe younger and not as spooked from lifes challenges.
The nest is looking ready and the egg watch is on!!

Hi Birdie. You all southerns get a huge jump on the northern bbs. I don't even have my houses up yet. It's a good thing for the bbs to be asertive.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Sheri, congrats on your bbs nesting.
