Lemon Tree Blossoms Don't Form Fruit; Just Drop

Thousand Oaks, CA

Hi,

I have a lemon tree that has a nice profusion of blossoms; however, the blossoms show no inner signs of emerging fruit, and will ultimately drop off the tree. Tree is fertilized regularly and I think we're doing a good job in not overwatering. Last year it was subject to a pretty severe leaf miner infestation, but we fought that by spraying, and then setting out baited leaf miner traps. This year I also put Tanglefoot to keep the ants off (well, more importantly to keep the ants from inadvertently helping their little Scale friends). Overall the tree looks much improved this year in terms of new leaves. I don't know what type of lemon tree this is (Eureka, Lisbon, etc., but it has alot of thorns).
Thanks!

My citrus trees drop a lot of blossoms - not enough insects to pollenize them all and would be too much fruit anyway to develop well. Since you're not overwatering maybe pH?

Hi - Thanks for the link, and the suggestion on pH. I'll try and check that out. There are still alot of unopened blossoms, and I've seen alot more bees this past weeks so maybe there's still hope for a little of what is left.
