Thanks Ladies, we've had 2 days of sun and about 18C away from the water. We even mowed the lawn last evening, just in time before Coronation Street.
I can't believe the difference a few days of sun can make ! Everything is just shooting out of the ground. The birds are chattering away and splashing in the birdbaths. Spring has sprung and it is warming the cockles of my heart !

(Linda, don;t you just hate that "Carla" on Corrie)
Thanks for sharing MG99. I luv the white flower that starts as a pink bud. I wonder if Growin would know what that was? Yoo Hoo Growin!
MG99, wonderful photos and the Fawn Lilies really bring back memories. I kinda grew up on Galiano Island on weekends, etc and one of my favorite things to do as a kid, when I wasn't doing gyprock work, mixing cement, etc., was to find one of the mossy-lichen rock outcrops, lie on my back, watch the sky, listen to the ocean & wind in the Arbutus and at this time of year there'd be lots of Fawn Lilies blooming all around.
I believe the purple flower is Sisyrinchium (Olsynium) douglasii (Douglas' Blue-Eyed Grass) but not sure. The white one might be Cardamine angulata (Angled Bitter-Cress) but can't say for sure either. The past few days have sure been nice and a very welcomed change from the snow we had last week Wednesday. The ornamental plums are in full bloom everywhere and the nursery I work at is already in "panick stations".
Happy spring!
Thanks Growin. I'm very interested in wildflowers so I hope we continue ot share on this thread.
