Mrs_Ed, Me too! I seen a bird stuffing it's mouth the other day, It was so funny to watch especially because it just couldn't seem to get enough of a mouthfull at once!

ducbucln, I actually "did" contribute, I always make a pile of straw pieces. twine, Dried daylily leaves, Ect. for the birds to use for nesting and thats where she took it from. :)

Nanny, Is there a particular reason you don't put one up? too many preditors where you are or ? I have 5 nestboxes and they all get used during the year, Two birds using them now are the Bluebirds and the Chickadees. On the chickadee box, I have a built in side view plexiglass view site when I open the side door so I can view everything inside without bothering the front entrance hole, Little worried, When I took a quick look the other day, It looked like there was 2 eggs in there and it's suppose to be cold temps today and freezing temps tonight, Hope she stays on the eggs and keeps them warm.

Huge House Sparrow population along with raccoons and squirrels and snakes.

Not to mention the wrens since you live by that wooded area!
