I live in Ontario Canada. I would love to have a pregnant onion plant. I have been serching online but everything is from the US. Plants can not be shipped to Canada. Is there anyone that has an extra one or baby they could send me. I would gladly pay plus postage. I have been also looking in the stores Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart but no luck. Thanks any help is appreciated. midshadow
Will someone please help me find a pregnant onion plant?
Thanks for your kind offer Sylvia. I received some a couple of weeks ago. How long do they take to start to root? I now I am a bit impatient I am just so excited to finally have some. What is the best way to plant them? Most of them I just sat them on top of the soil and pushed them slightly in. Another one I burried right in the soil. One I put in a shallow dish of water. The other one was like a root from the mother about an inch big which I put almost all the way in and it is the one that is growing. It is about 2 inches tall a sprout.it was hard to tell which way was up. Does the point go up? Thanks midshadow
Iforgot to add that yours look great. How old are they? How long before they start having babies? midshadow

" thats the way I plant them , dont water too much in the begining it kills them "

"point up "

" I'm not sure mine started having babies right way "
Trick is let them get big enough before you remove them
Mine are about 2-3 years old and I've had tons and tons of babies off of them
Hope this helps
Sylvia
I think i might be watering them to much. Its usually every day. They always seem dry. I will take the one out of the dish of water and plant it too. Thanks again Sylvia
yes I've left mine unattended for weeks at a time and
they are still alive.
