Baltimore Oriole

Leander, TX(Zone 8a)

I am sorry if I am not posting in the right spot I have been looking forever to find out where I can ask this question...Again my apology.
My question is this. I am originally from Michigan where every year I fed & watched these beautiful birds flying around. Sitting on my deck listening to their beautiful music. Since moving here to Tennessee a year ago I have not seen one. Do they visit Tennessee or am I forever going to be sad at losing these beautiful creatures? Please help

Hi kk, They sure do come to Tennessee. Here is their range map on this page.

Do you have any plants they like besides feeding them nectar, jelly and oranges?

Thank you pelletory for answering my post. To be honest I am not sure what kind of plants they may like. I have butterfly bushes (I brought from Michigan) and the butterfly weed is here. Lots of flowering shrubs.I always gave them jelly & nectar back in Michigan Thank you for the link going there right now.

Hi KK, Here is a page with different shrub/trees for birds.

http://www.ofnc.ca/fletcher/howto/treesforbirds.php Scroll down to read specific plants.

In my yard they were coming to a Trumpetvine called Madame Galen (orange blooms of course). It's quite invasive so it need's to be about 30 feet from the house but it also attracts Hummingbirds.

Hope this helps.

I always thought that orioles were fond of areas near water sources, perhaps you were located close to a river or lake before?
