Can you grow them in containers?

Great Clematis plants and very well developed root systems! They are ready to plant in your garden!

I've never ordered from "Unclegreenthumbs on Marketplace". Can you please provide a link so I can take a look at his Clematis? Also, writing up a short review under the "Products and Sources" tab at DG would be very valuable information and a big help to others.

Thanks so much for posting your pictures. I look forward to seeing your blooms in the future.

Janet,
as Shirley said they can be planted directly in the garden but I did go ahead and pot in containers temporarily due to the fact that the area where I want to plant them is not ready yet.
These fix nice in ? 5 G ? nursery pots which I had from some small trees that I had just purchased/planted.

Shirley,
Dave is Unclegreenthumb (by mistake I added and s)
He currently has 9 different clematis listed for sale but hopefully he will be adding more very soon because I am ready to make another purchase from him! :)

I did leave him feedback but need to look into "products and services"

I should add that he not only sent clematis which were even better than expected but he even sent a refund thru paypal because the shipping cost was alittle cheaper than quoted due to the fact that I am only a state away from him.... definately not needed or expected but very much appreciated!

I also left a review, but it was done on his page where I purchased them, I believe. Here is a photo of mine as they arrived. I hope to plant them today, but the 2 ft. holes that were dug are full of water after yesterday's storm. I hope he carries other varieties in the future as well. (I wish I knew how to siphon (sp?) it out.) I'm SO anxious to get these in the ground.)

I assume I'm supposed to leave the long stems. Is that correct?

My two cents.........you have found an excellent company. I was gifted two from this company last year. I kept the paper damp and sliced it with a razor blade when planting. I kept two or three buds on the stem cutting back those that had more. They took right off and grew about two feet per average bud.....Right now I am building the arbor that will accept their second summer's growth which should be real nice. It takes a few years to really get them going good but these have been super good plants. I got so excited with the quality that perhaps they got the best $50.00 planting holes I ever made up for any plants. Kudos for the care they received by the grower. With just a little luck I may even see a bloom or two in this only the second season for them in my care. I'll give them all the fish oil and kelp tea they will use this summer.

the ones i ordered were regency. i have a 6 year old regency, it is hardy, but not vigorous. i bought 2 more to boost the display. planted them a week ago. hope these are more vigorous that on the one i have...regency is a beautiful bloom that is not that commonly seen around here.
the packaging, roots etc that unclegreenthumb sent were very nice, plus he is easy to deal with and very good service.

ps this is regency from last year.
