Mounting the NJ stackers

Kerrville, TX

There are different ways to mount the NJ stackers to keep them from being knocked or blown over. We had rip roaring gusty winds today and it got me to thinking about it. None of mine blew over but I could look out the window and see them rocking and rolling.

My 12 inch stackers comes with a saucer at the bottom. The bottom pot can be temporarily locked to the saucer. I screwed the saucer to one of my wooden platforms, stacked the pots and ran a 3/8 inch dowel rod down through the pots. Simple hand tools and screws are all you need and its cheap.

Three screws like this one evenly spaced around the edge of the saucer.

If you dont wont to drill and screw down the pot, you can use an electrical conduit strap around the edge of the saucer. This is called a one screw electrical conduit strap and one for 1" size conduit should do the job. Three evenly spaced.

If you do not wont to attach the stack to your patio or deck, you can buy a precut 2x2 ft piece of 3/4 inch plywood and mount the stack on that. This would allow you to move the stack if needed.
