OT: Question for East Texans

Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

There is an event called the US 80 Hi-way sale (I think) scheduled for the weekend of the 18th.

Just wondering which section of 80 might be the best to 'cruise' - or which sections are historically 'dead'. My wife and I (and dog) may be staying in the Quitman area that weekend. Wouldn't mind killing some time garage sale-ing.

thanx in advance

anyone familiar with this?

I can't speak for the entire route, but north of Canton is pretty decent, some of the Canton vendors come out and set up along the hwy.

oh that makes sense - we''ll probably try to get into Longview and work our way back to Mineola at least, but good to know about the Canton connection.

It may help to start where there is a cluster of small towns. Remember you'll go for miles and miles with nothing but farm land in between.lol But it is a pretty drive this time of year. If you make it to Mineola keep your eyes out for a little nursery on the west side of town on 80. Not a huge selection but I always find something, they have great prices!

awesome info, thanx!

If you get to Big Sandy, we are just a little north and always love to see new plant people.
