( Kim) Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

I am getting pretty caught up with the packing and cleaning around here so I am getting boarded so I started to make and cut down some of my plants. But I have so many now and soon I will have to move them all. this will be hard. My sister wants to no how we are going to move them. its still cold in the 40. the house is only 7 miles away so its not to far.
When I get to my new house that will have to be cleaned top to bottom no one has lived there cents Dec. and I bet as soon as I close on the house work will start up. My sister was called back today.
I have been making and splinting up some of my streps but 1 plant equal 4 smaller. so I just have to wait and you all no. NO one like to wait. I also have to dig up some of my outside plants and I still have snow but its melting fast thats good. Well I took a picture of some of the flowering plants so here is a picture
Have a great Day all

Got my stands at Lowe I like them allot and the 1 didn't have wheels put I went to Lowes one day and they had a set of them so now they both have wheels. I have most of mine that are wicked so I was thinking when I move them I will take off the grade and just put them in the containers and I will have my truck warmed up before I put them in.

Kim--Your family needs to understand that your plants are as important to you as the White House china is to the First Lady! Yes, it will take some extra effort to move them safely, but this is not a huge deal. I have done it more than once. You can get big flats/boxes from a big box store, or even local greenhouse--and use your (Dry) wicking trays also. Lots of things around the house can be transformed into safe plant containers for transport. Good luck and congrats on your new house.

I moved my plants from one side of town to the other . . . give or take about 25 miles . . . just fine! We made one trip just for the plants . . . they were in the trunk, on the floor, on the back window (it was evening) . . . strapped into carseats . . . ^_^

Y'all are a hoot!

I have an "image" of strapping plants into car seats for a move, Love it! Sounds like a great plan to me, our prized plants are living, breathing things and we wouldn't want them to go flying and possibly end up with broken stems if there was an accident. But, if it were choosing between children or plants, I'd have to go with strapping the kids in first and let the plants fend for themselves. After all, we can re-root plants ... and they wouldn't be as cranky with a "broken arm" or such. ^_^

I'm smiling too about the Streptaholic and Sinnaholic names! Soooo true! But, plant diseases are some we don't want a cure for! ^_^

Kids were already transported. This was a trip just for the plants. ^_^
