I have been asked how do I grow from seed and what medium do I use? We all have different ways to do things but this is what I do.
In the seed growing container with drainage holes, I place a layer of moistened very light mix topped with a layer of moistened finely milled sphagnum moss. I make my own by grinding in a food processor. Or, you can buy "No Damp Off" seedstarter.

If you have ever begun a seed starting project and had the seeds germinate, start growing and then mysteriously "keel over" then you know how frustrating it can be when the tiny plants succumb to "damping off" disease. With No Damp Off your seeds have the best possible chance to thrive because you are saving them from the killer disease frequently attacks young seedlings. No Damp Off is a unique blend of Wisconsin long fibered sphagnum moss. It is naturally sterile and unsurpassed in water retention. It's great for starting cuttings too.
