Found these guys on my daylilies today. The daylilies have been indoors all winter, but spent last week outside.
Tiny black bugs with red legs?
I suspect that these could be spider mites - see http://tinyurl.com/c769gc for an example. If so, they usually can be controlled by washing them off with a strong stream of water, or through application of an insecticidal soap.
