You should see what I got in the mail today!!!!!!!!!

Everyone remember when I suffocated my poor tomatoes and eggplants in my greenhouse that I left zipped up and they could't get any air. Well, I paniced called Burpees, ordered their Hall of Fame tomato collection and their Fairy Tale Eggplants ( I ordered 3). I got them today in the mail and they are simply gorgeous. If I had to rate a company on packaging and condition of plants on a scale of 1-10; well, I'd have to give them a 15. 9 different tomatoes and 3 fairy tale eggplants. I know I'm cheating by ordering in some plants; but, hey, couldn't resist and so glad I didn't either.

I put an ounce of water to each of them and am keeping them indoors for 48 hours.

The fairy tale eggplants are perfect for growing in containers and TPlant: I got a brandywine. I have never tried one so that will be a treat.

Jerry: Please, they will be handled with care believe me. LOL I even have special containers for them. Like plucking some of mine out of the 5 gallon grow bags maybe? LOL

Joy--you'll love the Fairy Tale eggplant. I never liked eggplant until I tried this variety, and I also decided to grow some this year. Unfortunately, I'm still at least 6 weeks away from putting my baby plants out. It took me forever to start them from seed, and I seriously considered ordering some plants. They seem to be coming along ok now, though.

Joy, I've got the 4th of July and it's already got bloom clusters on it.

They will be the first tomatoes of the year. The reviews are good regarding taste, too.

Pugzley: I'm glad to hear that one, after not having any tomatoes or peppers last year, makes me want them so much more this year. The ones I've had growing in coconut coir and in the 5 gallon grow bags are looking really good too. I've been doing the bury the stem routine with them, that is why, I'm going to use the ones in the 5 gallon grow bags to transplant to the 6 topsys/revolutionary planters, the thicker the stem on those babies the better, as they will be hanging upside down. I can then transplant the ones from Burpees into 5 gallon grow bags and two of them into the 2 square footers. I do have three eggplants and am reserving 2 EB's for them, I figure I can plant two eggplants in one EB, and then an eggplant and tomato in the other EB, but which tomato, hmmmm?
