Herbstzauber a Joy to own

Dunedin, FL

Herbstzauber is one large continuously blooming Brugmansia, that is wonderful in those hotter climates also, never loosing her color and Blooms are lasting very long, these pictures have been taken Mar 21, 2009 and she was still blooming as of yesterday, when i took of the Blossoms that had been banged up by the 45 mph winds we had here Friday and Saturday. But there are new 2 to 3 inch Buds already here again to continue on.

Stunning.. and thank you VERY MUCH for the picture of the entire plant.. those are my FAVORITE pictures. May I please copy/borrow that picture to send to my sister in law to show her. I am trying to send her pics of how brugs can grow in pots... this is a prime example. She has her first cuttings now. She is living in Galveston on her boat after Hurricane Ike.

Absolutely Tammie, be my Guest, I am sorry your sister in Law had to go thru so much HZ is perfect for container or the Ground, i have several miniature trees growing, she always Y's at no more the 30 to 36 inches so she would make a perfect Patio (BOAT) Tree when she is kept trimmed, of course mine has grown up to be right now from the top of the soil to be seven feet so it will be time to trim as soon as the buds are spent.

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

Thank you.. I know your picture will be exactly what she is hoping to get out of her little cuttings. They are NOID's so they will be a surprise to her. they will be in pots on the dock. So, I guess they are still going to be land lubbers.... instead of 'boat plants' the boat was too damaged to be sea safe.. going to be a long time before those repairs are made. It is just a place to live since their home is gone too. No room on the boat for plants anyway.. barely enough for 2 people to turn around. LOL She is so excited to have plants again. Tom went searching yesterday for some pots to start them in.. once they are big enough, they will be in those rope handled tubs! Tom can't wait either!

Actually, I wish I could grow one so beautiful. I can't seem to get any yellows to grow for me.. may be too hot or something. May be just rotten luck...I have lost every yellow cutting I have bought! Strange.. now give me 20 yellows and 5 pinks.. you can bet I will lose 20 yellows and all 5 pinks will grow like weeds!

Christa, your photos are so beautiful :-)
Yes, she is a true joy ..
When she bloomed here just before frost, she was unbelievably beautiful.
Many many thanks to Monika for sharing her beauties with us in the US.

My momma HZ has small buds coming now for her spring flush .. I am watching every day :-)
Cant wait to see her bloom again ..

That one is absolutely stunning. That's good news about holding up well in the heat.

(Clint) Medina, TN(Zone 7b)

I love the plants, but the background makes me want to go back to the Keys! I need a vacation.

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

I forgot to ask.. how old is this plant? I keep coming back to look at the picture.. so beautiful!

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

I sent her the picture.. fastest response I have ever gotten from her to and e-mail! She loves it.

I thought I saw somewhere you lived near the Keys.. but I see you are near Tampa? They used to live in the Keys until they got wiped out by hurricane Wilma.. yep.. they must be hurricane disaster magnets.. you would think they would learn to get insurance!

Whose cultivar is this one? I would love to get one. Maybe I would have luck for once with a yellow if it can take heat.

Gorgeous, and so nice that it does well in the heat.
