A shower for all the Chicks and livestock born in March!

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I am hosting a virtual shower for all of our poultry and livestock born in the month of March. It will be pot luck. So bring your favorite dish. I will take suggestions for a good date. I know there is no perfect day but I will go with what works for most. I am thinking Monday March 30th. All day if you like or meet up in the evening. I just went to a shower that was 5+ hours long so we can make it as long or short as you want. If I can make it through that one, I can do anything!!! I will make a veggie tray! I hope all will be able to attend and to celebrate the wondrous births of the creatures we love so dearly!

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

Hooray for spring! Hooray for bouncing bumbling fussy butts. I'm bringing the rum cake!
Do we have silly hats? We need silly hats...

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Yes!!! I am here early to set up. *hangs balloons* This will be so much fun!!! *tapes up streamers* I cant wait to see all the silly hats *sets up cake table*
We will need everyone to list their March births so we can shower them with love. I didnt have any...so I will only be a guest. Thats okay though. I love to attend virtual showers! Oh ya this is my first!! hehehe
So If everyone would sign in with your new babies names and dates that would be great. Pics wouldnt hurt! Then we can start showering them. :D

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Hey all, I fell asleep!!!! Too much wine and fun for me. :D Catscan, how is the hatch. This event can go on as long as we want! Its virtual. No real rules. I went online to a store that sold goat gifts. hehehe Isnt it cute? Its true though...like the chicks mind meld!! I gotta read the blog.

Just learned that things falling in the category of chatty "revelry" are not acceptable under the DG policy. Thus, I have edited out all my prior posts on this thread, because they all fell into that category. Off to check other threads for same problem!

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I guess this whole thread is Chatty revelry. Sorry to have brought everyone into rule breaking. I apologize. :/

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

Oooo, sorry. No self-flagellating allowed. {{burp, burp, BURP}}
We are [mostly] intelligent adults and we decided to play. C's just having a moment, and the rest of us had a good time. =0)

I have chickens. I like them. But not too much.
I also have a rabbit. It is lonely. Do rabbits have feelings?
I sometimes celebrate my pets' birthdays, but I am trying not to.
What do chickens eat?

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I also have chickens. They are very nice. I like them.
I also have 5 rabbits. They are not lonely, but I do think they have feelings.
I never celebrate birthdays of any sort. At least, not that I will admit to.
I do believe chickens eat chicken feed. You can buy it at your local feed store. If you ask them nicely, they might let you read the list of ingredients prior to any purchase. You may also feed your chickens kitchen scraps, but only if your kitchen scraps are proper.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

What would indicate improper scraps?
I have scraps.
I do celebrate birthdays. Every year. It is getting to be monotonous though.

Lodi, United States

I do not believe in scraps and I do not approve of them. I do believe in and approve of monotony.
My chickens like scratch. My rabbit likes pellets. He is still lonely. But I will not throw a party for him.
If my chicken is sick what should I do? Is it okay to say "sulfadimethoxine"? It is a very big word.

My blue Araucana, Tarnish, just laid her first egg! Tiny, but blue green. And my Araucana roo, Sky, has started crowing! Can the pitter-patter of little blue-egged chicks be far behind?

And in its honour, with apologizes to Rudyard Kipling:

Though they've beaten you and flayed you,
By the living (insert Deity) that made you,
You're a better American than I am,
