No, my dogs aren't viscious :)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

Some folks ask me about working dogs for personal protection so thought I'd share some fun - and yes, it is fun!! We train our dogs in bite work; they would never bite a person unless asked to do so :) They will hold a person while sitting with a consistent bark unless they are given a command to do otherwise. It's a great confidence builder in dogs whether large or small. A really confident dog would never even consider getting into a fight of any kind because they have the 'knowledge' that there is no reason to bite.

We do this along with our agility and tracking training and the dogs were exhausted today and very, very happy pups. We have a great friend who is an excellent decoy playing the "bad guy", but as you can see, everyone is truly happy :) And NO - he does NOT use the stick to hit the dogs - it just has a popper at the end that makes a sound like a shot, so the dogs don't ever shy from loud noises.
