Here is one I have been watching for a while.I like the seperation on these skirts.Separated but not widely. It has a nice fragrance and the interesting characteristic of changing from a medium pink to orange as the flower matures.
One I am watching
Cool one JT! That's just how I like skirts to be separated. The color change is nice too. Get to enjoy two colors on one bush. Usually it's only white/cream to apricot that we see happening on a regular basis.
Beautiful, JT. That color change is interesting. I was so enthralled with the flower in the first photo I didn't notice it was a little guy until Liz mentioned it!
Liz,this is a Pink Smitty x NOL cross. This proves that that belief that double to double crosses always produce deformed flowers just isn't true. This one had well shaped flowers from it's first bloom.
Now,about the little guy.It isn't really small. The first picture is of the first bloom nearly a year ago.The next two are from this week. The first bloom was small but now the blooms are normal size. The length is 13 inches including the peduncle.Width is between 5 and 6 inches not including the tendrils.
I see.
JT, I've been making doubles to doubles crosses for a while now. A lot of them are floating around the community. I also have customers who request ONLY doubles x doubles seed. I guess we'll see what comes of those in the future. I'm also growing a few out myself.
Good to see a successful cross of this kind.
Good job JT p.s. love the brugs I got from you...best out there :-) hopefully she'll be for sale soon!!!!
I really like the unusual orangy-pink colors. Definitely one to watch. I wish ya the best of luck with her.
I crossed a lot of doubles x doubles last fall as well. It will be interesting to see how they come out.
