My little rescue toy fox terriers have thin skin and fur, and so they shiver a lot. I like to keep them in sweaters because its chilly outside and I keep the temp. down in the house too. But dog jackets and sweaters seem pricey to me.
I found that my little guy Tbone fit into the sleeve of an old sweatshirt I was about to discard. So I took the idea to the next step. I went to the Goodwill and got a man's Large size fleece sweater (for around $5) and used the sleeves to make Tbone (the smaller guy) and Buddy new sweaters. The fabric doesn't need edging. I just cut them to fit and they are both very happy in their cozy new outfits. They are happy and so is my pocketbook.
