This is my first year to grow veggies.
I bought romaine plants and put them out. They are about 7 inches tall now and I want to know do you pull up the whole plants, cut it off near the ground?
I know this is a dumb question but...........!
Thanks!
How to harvest romaine lettuce
Harvest the out side leaves and more will grow from the center.
You can eat off those plants until it gets too hot and they go to seed. I had salad every few days from Nov - Feb off 2 big pots of mixed lettuce. I'll plant 4 pots next fall.
You can cut them at the base and they will probably sprout new little lettuces from the stub.
Or pull them out if you want to plant something else in that space.
