Milagra and Melissa need advice in re: training

Hempstead, TX(Zone 8a)

Milagra has been with us now since the 24th of December. She has blossomed in so many ways - she is a happy dog, eats well, is putting on weight (but I think will always be a very lean dog), chases the ball and catches it now, and most importantly, she is gaining her confidence.

All good things. Milly is most probably what is termed a "cur" dog. I will get the link for that type of dog. She requires a tremendous amount of exercise - chasing the ball and playing with other dogs is not nearly enough. So, I have rigged up a lead onto my Mule (not the 4 legged kind) and off we will go riding in the fields with her long trotting along side. She needs more - she LOVES to chase my horses and my yearling calves. If she is left to her own devices she can get out of the playground and under the fence in a nanosecond. It took me two hours to get her and two very angry horses kenneled and stabled.

And therein lies the difficulty. She needs a job. I am clueless as to what that job might be. She is also an Alpha (we have 1 Alpha male and 1 Alpha female) - I probably need help with pack leadership as well.

So I will leave you all with my story, and I thank you in advance for your input. I will get a better image of her. She is a pretty dog I think.
