As a gardener who has tried and failed many times when pushing the limits, I've had some happy successes, too. If you have time and patience you might want to try unusual choices from seed. Fewer dollars lost if it just wasn't meant to be -

For those who dare experiment..........
I have one of the dragonfruit. They are insane. I saw a bumb on one of the branches and it was over two feet long with 10-15 days. I still havent had fruit but I planted a bunch of cuttings in the fall at the base of my house on the stucco and they made it through the winter with temps of 22 degrees. I am sure they were have died if they were more than a few feet from the house.
HA! I didnt realize that the pics change everytime you go to that link. There was dragonfruit the first time I clicked.
