Help with Elephant Ear

Mesa, AZ

My elephant ear has been looking so good, but now has become a lighter green with some spotting on the leaves. Any ideas on what might be wrong? Thanks! Renee

I would venture to say that your plant is going chlorotic. This problem affects broad-leafed plants in very sunny conditions. In my case, it was caused by an iron defficiency in the soil. Ironite pellets are sold to remedy the situation and that worked for me.

Here is a link to help you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorosis

But then again,I could be totally wrong here. I'm just trying to help.

Best of luck.

Can you post a picture of the plant? Problems like this can be tricky to diagnose even with a picture, but the picture definitely helps!

That was a few years ago. I will check in my files. I am sure I'll be able to dig one up.

Sorry for the confusion, I was talking to Renee, I thought it might help confirm whether or not that's the problem if we could see a picture of her plant.

Sounds like to much sun, can you get some shade over it??
