It is very hard to ID something like this but on a guess. I would say Dracunculus Vulgaris or an Arisaema species.

Thanks for your input everyone. I got that thing before I knew anything about it or DG lol! Very funnneeee LariAnn : )

Happy Easter, my friend.

Hi Kim,
A while back on the forum we had a bit of a rash of interest in this plant. This thread in particular had some great photos:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/718715/ and here is one of my plants flowering in 2007, in spite of it being far too hot and underwatered! I feel like a bad plant mother! but the house moves have really stuffed my life up in the last few years.

I have no photos from the 2008 season at all because I had just moved into this house and the Dracunculus pots were under the lemon tree in the new back yard, just coming into bud, when there was a massive cat fight overnight
and all of the just about to flower stems were either bent over or snapped off - GRRR! (the house to the back of me appears to have an entire colony of cats living there - I have counted at least six different black and white coat patterns and there was a litter of 4 kittens this spring! - I think these people are irresponsible idiots but that's a whole different rant) Fortunately, the tubers survived the experience and I will be replanting them soon, now that the cooler autumn weather is coming in. When I say cooler, that's a relative term mind you - we hit a daytime high of 116F this summer, but it is still over 85F in my back yard today. The nights are better though now, mostly in the mid 50s, which seems to make the plants a lot happier than they were during the January heatwave when we didn't get a night under 70F for over two weeks with several nights exceeding 90F!

I sense another rant coming on, so I'll say TTFN,

Ciao, KK.

Kim, just wanted to share with you. This maybe 'Green Dragon' (?) that Jan has sent me several for a trade last year. I've two that are blooming now. The leaves are not seen yet, but here comes the bloom. Gotta hold my breath, and won't get too close to the flower though. LOL (my first blooms ever).

Update: my flower wilted, and no new growth has returned to the plant that I showed above. Here is another one that I've in a hanging basket, this morning I found a new leaf emerges! Woohoooo!

Hi Lily_love,

That was some flower! I am glad you have another one to carry on with. You may find that your flowering plant will now produce several smaller plants - just keep checking the ground area for emerging leaves. I am not sure WHAT your plant is, based on the flower you showed us, but I WANT one! I don't believe it is 'Green Dragon', because as far as I know that name is applied to an Arisaema cultivar.

From the look of the photo the flower is quite close to the ground so it may be an Arum of some sort. Do you have a picture of the adult leaves you could show us?

Ciao, KK.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Way kewl Kim!!! Hello KK : )

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Kity, I found a sprouting of new leave from the faded flower Voodoo lily. I've the picture of the plant last year. Tomorrow, I'll see if I can search the pix for you.
Thanks Kim.
