Got one for you computer geniuses. I am running an xp machine (all the latest updates) and using internet explorer 7. About 10 days ago I started having a problem, it takes for ever to load a website when I type it in the address bar. If I go to a site I have in my favorites it opens a new window (a whole new ie appears.) but goes there quickly. I can download things very quickly, I have high speed cable.
I have run ccleaner, spybot and McAfee but no improvement. Any ideas? I know some will say use another program to surf but I have used IE since it came out with no problems. Oh, one more I cannot get windows update to work by going there and running it. The automatic works fine but have found that for Office you need to run update manually.
