oh what a pleasant surprise!

Chattanooga, TN(Zone 7b)

our January temperatures were near 0 and I did leave brugs in the ground as usual, with a small pile of mulch/compost around their base.

you might have to use a magnifying glass - but oh look what i found today while weeding:

What a joy to see! I know you really did jump for joy.. I am really happy for you. How big does she usually grow for you during the season? Have you considered wrapping some of the base of the trunk instead of cutting to the ground?

Hamilton, OH

that's great news, that your snowbank made it through such low temps, I think where I live it gets colder
than that, I would be afraid to leave mine in the ground, I am happy for you that you could

Squinting a bit here...but smiling!

Wow! That's simply amazing!! Do you have it planted in a somewhat protected area?

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

I have the same thing going on - YES!!!!!

Lucky you!
snowbank was one of my first brugs, four years ago and I've babied her and enjoyed her folage.
she never bloomed for me and this winter, after babying all winter, inside, she kicked the bucket! I guess I tried too hard!
I hope you get lots of blooms this year!
Bonnie
