Closed: CLOSED... SEEDS ARE GONE..
I guess they are good for a couple of years.. Thanks for the D-mail friend!
Hi guys,
I haven't been on this forum in years so don't know if this question has been addressed, and have some seeds that i've either bought or gotten from kind folks here that are about 3 or 4 years old.
Anyone had seeds this old germinate? I'm soaking some today just in case they do germinate.
Any info on this is appreciated... TIA
Antoinette

How long are seeds viable?

This is a very informative read.
Hi there !!...
I peeled the cork off several and the embryo's look good, so I did that to several crosses..and put them into pots this morning.
I've got some more to do.. will go check out the thread on gw, Let me know if you want some old seeds to try.

Kay,
Well, two have sprouted!!! A Sanguina and a Pink Lady cross.. I only have six containers going, so maybe a couple more will do something.
When do you move the seedlings up? Mine are in those expandable peat pellet thingies...
You can move the seedlings up to their own 4" pot or an equivalent size when the seedlings have about two pair of true leaves. You can do it sooner, but waiting until the seedlings have two sets of leaves gives the stems a chance to thicken reducing the danger of damaging them.
Thank you!
Brugmansia seeds a year and more old have germinated fine for me.
Here is an old seed that germinated fine. Canna though, not brug .. lol

I sent all the seeds out and don't have more.
But, One more germinated this week, that's a total of three, another cross germinated.

Can the stem be buried, like a tomato plant can? when re-planting seedlings?
