Looking at those pics, It could be. Thanks for the link Catscan. Good info. Jess, are you looking to hatch it? It would be cool to see a baby turkey. :D What other types of birds do you have?

Yes, we're going to try to hatch it...tried candling it to check for fertility, it's clear all the way through, but I'm not sure what I'm doing there, so...

We have a flock of large breed (mixed) chickens, a flock of Seramas, 1 muscovy duck, 1 white crested duck, 7 baby mallard ducks, 3 baby white ducks, 9 baby chicks, 7 Rio Grande turkeys & 1 peacock & 2 peahens.

Taking my incubator to school tomorrow to let the 3rd graders hatch some eggs. Can't wait to see how that turns out.

I don't think you can candle a fresh egg for fertility. After it's been in the incubator for 7 days you can tell if it's fertile when you see the veins.

Sounds like a super fun opportunity for the kids! Good Luck. :)

Oh what fun! I hatched with summer camp kids last summer. I do love the kids reactions! So cool!!! I hope that egg is a turkey baby. I have never had them. COOL!!!!
Ya, I couldnt tell till several days in. Then I could see viens and a black dot. Thats the only way I knew. LOL Good luck and keep us updated. Oh take pics at school!!! :D

I would wait for a few more days at least if the turkeys are young. Their first eggs are seldom good. Mine would drop the first ones all over the yard at the beginning of the season. I could never get one to even start , but when they built their nest or started laying in the spot, then the eggs were good.
