Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

You've made my day! That's just downright sweet. =0)

And that pair is in a high tunnel, Cajun... so there's another thing you can do with 'em.

I hadn't even noticed. It doesn't suprise me that you did. You have had high tunnels on the brain for quite a while now. How is yours coming along? Did you take a break from construction to make cheese?

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

Somebody's going to have an identity crisis...

Ginger

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

LOL... hen-pecked pup? I'll bet it'll be one heck of a guardian for that flock. =0)
We did the cheese while it was warming up outside. I've definitely been dreaming of high tunnels. LOL

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh how cute! Love the pic!!!!!!!

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

LMBO, Okay, my dad did not lay the eggs himself. His precious chickens did all that for him. hehehe But boy, you just put a giggle in my wiggle today! Thanks!

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Sew
What kind of chickens does your Dad have?

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

He has RIR, honeys, barred rocks, and austrolorps. I am not sure which egg is which. And my chickens have managed to stick a couple extras of there own in there. hehehe 3! LOL

Lodi, United States

What are honeys?

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

He calls them honeys. I think they are really Buff Orps. He just calls them, Red chickens, Honey chickens, Black and white chickens... LOL

Lodi, United States

Oh, that makes sense. The Buff do look like honey.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

He cracks me up! He really does not care what kind they are. He knows they lay a lot of eggs.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

And they are sweet natured hens.

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

Unless they get broody... then they'll draw blood.

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

We called Buff "Golden Pigs" because they eat SO much!

I think the meanest setting hen must be a bantam. Must be akin to that small dog syndrome.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I got ANOTHER broody hen today. Three out of four nesting boxes taken up with them. :/

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

What breeds do you have setting?

Newton, AL

I have a bunch of broody girls too, even the mallard duck. 2 Sumatras, 2 marans, 1 wht cochin, 1 faverolle and probably a few more. I have up to 4 girls trying to get in 1 box. Crazy! Spring has sprung.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I have my blue girl STILL, my barred rock mix, and NOW a big black maran mix. All barnyard specials. But man do they set! UGH!!!

Clarkson, KY

Thanks for my new desktop decor, Cajun!!

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

My pleasure. Glad you all enjoyed it.

Lincolnville, ME(Zone 5a)

Try five for size! One light colored one in the pic has her little head burried. Problem is - they are supposed to be laying me some more eggs to hatch. Who was it that said Seramas don't tend to go broody - fiddlesticks!

Oh no!!! 5, thats just not right! Egg strike I believe. :( There goes the hatching eggs. They sure are pretty birds.

Lodi, United States

I know--these birds just don't read the books...my Golden Sebright went broody for two months and then hatched out a Barnevelder. They are not suppose to be broody at all either. The only thing that snapped her out of it was hatching the chick.

Ferndale, WA

Hey Maineiac!!! Love the pic, I can't think of anything that has made me laugh as much as the craziness of some of these goofy birds. And then there are those crazy bird owners. With all the birds you have, and the hatching you do, your still biding on auction eggs. What's up with that??? If we did not know better we'd all think your some kind of Maineiac.LOL Did I say Maineiac??? Hmmm. Haystack.

And oh yes, If you should want or need any of your birds sexed?? I hear tell that Sewing Circle (AKA JeanMarie) is in to that sort of thing, Vent Sexing. Hmmm.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Ugnt uhhh! I would rather look at the wattles! LOL remember???

Citra, FL

What a precious picture.

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

sewin looking at wattles?
LOL

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

At least they are on the face!!! LMBO

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

Yeah, rubbing chicks between yur cheeks.... well now, that was a picture. LOL
Either sucking face with a chick or....
