A friend who uses an A T & T phone card for his internet has been having connection problems with the card. He uses it in his mobile phone during the day, and then in his computer while at home at night. He may be able to connect to the internet one try, and then may not be able to connect at another time.
He has spent hours with AT & T tech support and a tech has convinced him that his USB ports are faulty, and that is the problem.
So my question is this: Can a USB port have a lose connection/wire and if that is possible, is there a way to replace the USB port, and what all would be involved? Would it be a cost prohibitive repair, or is it a simple fix. He has just had the computer into the shop for minor maintence and repair, and the shop assures him that while it was at their shop, everything checked out. So who to believe?
