What are you seeing that says spring. I had as baby box elder bug in my cereal bowl.
Signs of Spring
I saw a butterfly!! ! A real one, not a moth. It was smallish and orange. I don't know if I've ever seen a butterfly in March before, or if I just never noticed ....
(That must have been a cereal box elder bug??? ;) )
The daffodils are finally coming out! In fact I had a knock around 730 last night. It was a neighbor & his young daughter (I would guess about 6 years old.) Her dad told me she had something to tell me. I thought she would be selling Girls Scout cookies or something for her school. She quietly explained that she and her best friend
love my flowers and they picked some daffodils to take home. I had to hold in my laughter as I quess her dad was trying to teach her about taking things that do not belong to you.
It was the cutest thing. I told her that I plant flowers for all to enjoy and I would be happy to pick a bouquet for her if she asks in the future. :)
It is 50 here also but sunshine. i should be outside but I didn't go. I did check my two tiny hardy fuchsias and there are signs of life. I'm very happy about that. Love your pictures Bea. Did those pansys live over the winter? Nice.
Could those blue and white blubs be 'Glory in the snow"?
Like the red lady.
Hi Willowwind.. the pansies did survive the winter in the pots and I have other in the ground that have spread here and there. The slugs have gotten to those...but now that I have put some bait around I expect them to take off again. They went almost year round last year.
The blue & white flowers are Puschkinia that I have from Brent & Becky's. If you have not used this company it is a great one with very nice variety & quality bulbs.

Take care
Same difference as my mom used to say. Glory is their common name. Good website, thanks.
Michael - what an awesome comment. I'm going to steal this: "It brings a smile to my brain.' I love it. And the frogs do that to me, too.
Bea, what a sweet, sweet story. I think her dad did the right thing and followed up with such a neat thing, too. Maybe she can come over some time and help you garden. I love that she noticed and loved the flowers.
Takin' a little rest in the church parking lot - that's pretty out in the open.
A bit behind most of you, but my Rosamundi and Christmas Cheer Rhodies are starting to bloom, and I do at least have buds on some of my daffs. I also saw my first little toad in the garden and heard the singing frogs in the valley (mine are still quiet, but soon come...). Oh yes, and the crocus are glorious if the sun manages to come out!
