I got about 1/4 of my order from bob smoleys yesterday. Well worth the wait! Nice sized cuttings, and packed and labeled great! I took pictures of each cutting with its label for ID purposes, and posted the pics on my facebook group "rhipsalis collectors". to go there, the address is: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=54938034001

That's great! I may try him next year if friends and family don't have me committed. lol
Great I am still planning a trip down there.
I went to look at your plants which look good.
but I was surprised to see a picture on my partly built green house???? how did that get there????
Sandy
I do not really mind the picture being used but it is a dumb picture to use, because if you do not know what it is, it just looks like a mess.
I posted a link to davesgarden on there, and when I posted the link to davesgarden, that pic just attached with the link....I did not put the pic there.
thats weird....cause I never really noticed or paid attention before.
Ok Then it is alright Just wish it had taken a better picture. that Is not a good one. I bet there are a lot of people scratching their heads trying to figure it out. Should we post a prize for who every figures out what it is. LOL
I wonder why it put that pic...perhaps that was the last pic posted on the orchid cactus forum when I made the link? I wonder what would happen if I deleted the link then posted it again....hmmm...maybe sometime when Im not so lazy I'll try it.
ok...I got the pic off there. I deleted then reposted, and the last pic posted on here came up. I noticed there was a spot that said click here to change thumbnail. I did, and there were about 15 pics to choose from. I used something that seemed neutral. I wanted to use a pic of some red orchid cactus, but, I know that pic belongs to someone also.
I went to look and it asked me for a password.
Good Now people will know what the site is about instead of a mess. I just hate anyone thinking that this forum was about a jumbled up mess. I hate that darn picture.
yes...unfortunately you have to have a facebook account to view it.
I did get to see some picture of plants that I think where your cuttings.
I still plan on going down there soon.
Lismil,
I saw some beautiful plants there. Very nice. Wow.
Did they tell you when you would be getting the rest of your order??
no...I was kind of dissapointed that he didn't include a note or anything. The box just said partial one of 2.
Why not call and say that you are planning to take a trip and you wish to have a ruff idea of when the rest of your order will be coming so that you can set the days for the trip so you will be home when the rest of the order comes. Aren't I sneaky!!!
lol...cause I don't want to bug....I already sent him an email not too long ago....patience is a virtue I suppose. But, if I don't hear anything in a while I will email again. I got my german empress in the mail and planted it this weekend. It does have tiny buds all over it, and I'm excited to see if they bloom, or if the shipping and everything effects it. I also noticed, that one of the rhipsalis cuttings has a tiny pink flower on it. I was soooo excited about this, because I have only seen white and yellow flowers on rhipsalis. I did see an ebay listing one time that said rare rhipsalis with pink flowers. This must be that rhipsalis. I'll see if I can get pics later.
That is a very nice cutting. Keeping my fingers crossed that the flowers stick on both.
